I went for a 79 mile ride this morning,,,wow it was great, less snow in the
heavily wooded areas. Cold weather and more snow predicted should make this the
weekend to ride especially with the predicted slight warm up next week. All
roads are snow coated making getting around very easy.,P> We have a couple
cancellations for the weekend book today. Rent 2 nights stay the 3rd night free
Sunday-Thursday. We have a ton of parking here for the biggest of rigs, RIDE
FROM HERE, direct trail access. We have trail systems going north, south, east
and west.

Hi Guys well finally we have a great white weekend ahead of us. Shovel yourself out and ride the best trail system in Michigan. We have more rideable snowmobile trails than any county in MI. With a cold snap tonight that will freeze everything up and help the base on the trails. I just got back from a 40 mile ride in fresh powder the wet heavy snow has the trees droopy so watch yourself a bit on the trails.

I went for a ride just seconds ago and other than getting around on some of the accesses trails around roads the trails are very rideable. There are a few bare spots but considering the time of year it is decent. We are supposed to get a few inches tonight, we did not get any of that snow to our south,,,some of our riders were here riding to the south and said it was fairly decent. Maybe hit Reed City and head south from Baldwin.
May be one of the last weekends of the year for riding, but Monday is looking like we are supposed to get dumped on

We will be having our mid-week special Sunday-Thursday. Stay 2 nights get the 3rd free.

I just got back from a ride to White Cloud and the trails are nice and groomed. Felt like I was riding in the rockies......We have a few cancellations because of the weather for the weekend, couple open rooms and cabins,, and this is a great time to take advantage of our Sunday-Thursday rent two nights get the third free.

We need to take the threat of the feds to close the national forest down to snowmobiling very seriously if you are at work wasting time please read this and follow through on the importance of riding in the National Forest and the little impact it has on it. We need to yell loud here. Please follow through and write the feds let them know how important this is.

Sorry it took my so long I was doing the ultimate fishing show this weekend and enjoying some great fresh snow trails today. I hope everyone has the sleds dialed in for some good riding. Finally we have some good snow, the last batch we got put us over the edge and the trails are groomed and ready to go. We are doing the pay for 2 nights get the third for free. 103.88 for 3 nights Sunday to Thursday is a great deal, get up and stretch you sled out. East, South, West everywhere I went the trails were great. We have a few openings for this weekend so please call quick if your making plans. Well Tue. Evening we got 2" of snow, Last night we got 1", and we are expecting 1-3" during the day today. This snow fills in the trails, and coats the roads making everything fairly nice. On the well used trails there are a few bare spots but things are not that bad. Very rideable, and I am sure much less traffic. Just west of here there is much more snow probably another 6-8". We have open rooms this weekend give us a call.

CONDITION: Very Ridable: We are Rebuilding from the Big Thaw Just Like the Rest of MI

I went on a big ride today from my place to Cadillac. On my way back home I found some skinny spots those were on some of the tight parts of the trail. The whole ride I went on 130 miles I only saw 5 sleds, so obviously the conditions were perfect. With the consistent lake effect we have been getting every day, the roads and back roads are in good shape to ride. If you're getting sick of watching your sled in the garage I think you could come up and have a good ride. If the weather report is correct we should have a great weekend ride with snow each day to coat the trails. Look for another 4-6inches by the end of the weekend.

Hi folks get up here for a good weekend ride.

I cleared a few limbs out of the way from the wet heavy snow we received last Sunday. Some of the tight trails have some snirt, and some of the commerce in the village of Baldwin (bare roads) can be tough to get to other than that we are expecting around 1-3inches this weekend to give the roads a glaze and expect a fun weekend.

We should be a great base camp for some fun December Riding. We have specials running this week and we have a few open rooms for this upcoming weekend.

Well folks we didn't get the dumping that just north of us received but the snow we did get was good to great base making material and should make for a good ride this week into this weekend. Lake effect snow will be really firing up just west of us in Mason County. I took a ride up to Cadillac and over to Welleston they have considerable more snow but we have plenty to make the farthest south base with great trails and reasonable accommodations.

Hey guys I just got back from a short ride and thought things were nice considering the time of year. Get up here and get your last ride in, things were snirty in a few spots and getting around certain towns may be a pain, but if we get 2inches of the 2-4 we will be in very good shape. That is the forecast and you know how tough that is this time of year. Ludington got 9inches and the trails that bleed over towards Mason County are evident of this. To bad Ludington really doesn’t have a trail system. Either way things look fine for this weekend.

Took a ride on 30 east from my place down from Reed City towards Rockford trails were great to our south,,,at least another 2" of snow then we got yesterday. All of the water had iced up which made a few intersections rough, the brown snow is gone from the weekend but there are a few skinny spots still from this weekends melt.

We are expecting an artic clipper system to be coming through with another 2"-4", and light lake effect from there. We don't have 2 feet on the ground but we have rideable snow, I have a couple rooms of people that have enjoyed the fresh snow from yesterday. Things got a bit warm for liking yesterday but this morning it's a high of 14 so things are freezing up. On my ride yesterday I found no ice as things had thawed a bit but the trail stayed smooth. There are a few dirty spots and a few bare spots but one every 40 miles or so. If you check the pics out on the website that is trail 30 going east to Reed City and on my way to Cadillac.
If it gets warmer it may be a pain to get off the trails this weekend but things look good. Go to http://bclsnowmobile.blogspot.com, you can see what the trails look like around here. We are still running a mid week special buy two nights get the last night free. Sunday-Thursday. We are expecting some snow of excess next week. .

Come up and I will give you a detailed map of trails and great back roads to come and enjoy our great county, and surrounding north. This is a great, affordable place to start your journey north riding. Why would you trailer farther north. By the time you got there you could already have 50-100 miles on your sled........

CONDITION: Nice Riding Conditions------It's Almost March Get Out and Go Riding!

As of right know the trails are in very good condition. We have been getting a inch or so every night to help whiten the trails up and give the groomers something to groom with. The inch or so is just what the doctor ordered for our trails. Finally I have to dust off the plow truck (Big Brown) and actually plow.

I went for a ride taking (3) south to Newaygo the trail was great all for the couple exceptions of trail next to the road where you have to go around a guardrail and river. We are still running a mid week special buy two nights get the last night free. Sunday-Thursday. This is the best riding we have had since December and everyone who was here last weekend said the trails were fine, so it's that much better.

We had a couple inches last night to glaze the roads and put a little extra on the trails. As far as the trails they are nice, There are some parts of the trails that have another foot of snow than others depending how they line up with the cold lake Effect Winds. We are supposed to be getting some sun and 30 degree weather this week but we have enough base to not effect it much. I will keep you posted and how that progresses. The roads around the village can be tight when this happens but if you stay on the trail things are perfect. If you can do it get up here in the next three days the trails will be perfect. We have a couple inches more of the white stuff,,,,Great weekend riding,,,,,we still have open rooms,,,,49+tax per night for a double room,,,,lots of room to park,,,,,Lot's of stuff to do in town and a whole national forest to ride in...What is better than a groomed trail that no one has rode in!!Nothing!!...Dodge- Cadillac and Gaylord drive less and see great groomed trails and nice accommodations!!!

Its beginning to look (and feel) alot like winter!
We got about an inch or so of snow last night and have had a steady stream of light snow thus far today. They are predicting at least another 1-3 inches of lake effect tonight and more showers tomorrow tapering off Sunday.
Not quite enough of the white stuff to get the sleds out just yet......but there looks to be plenty more in the forecast to get excited about!

I just got off the trails. I went on a quick ride to Chase -Trail 30 East from Baldwin. Getting to the trails was fairly easy and other than some water that will soon ice up I think the trails are decent. I lot of riders this weekend on the trails would change things because of loosing some base but if you set up here as base camp and ride north and west of here you will have a nice weekend. For that matter although we lost some snow base we have a hard packed ice w/snow over trial conditions. We still have a couple last minute cancellations if you need a room

Well guys the trails are again not perfect but they are very ride able. I just went for a quick ride and other than some spots were the wind has blown some snow off the blacktop roads the trails are more than fine,,As you can see I took Trail 3 South to Brohman and had a virgin trail the whole way. That was a nice ride and the only reason I turned around was not because of trail conditions was I had to get back in the shop and get back to work. We did not get the dumping that we needed but this is a great place for base camp to ride. Were supposed to keep getting more snow and even in town on the road crossings they were covered (mostly because of the strong winds were are having blowing the snow around) . Just to the west and north of us got the majority of the snow but we have more than adequate trails considering the amount of sleds that are up here which is very few. Dodge the crowds this weekend and give us a call......We have a couple more rooms left for this weekend,,,save the miles driving and stop here...................In my opinion I think the trails will better here because there will be less traffic than north of here.............

Hi guys the trails are not perfect but they are worth riding and by the looks of the weather we should be set up for a good weekend coming up with the snow predicted. I went for a 85 mile ride today and never saw a patch of dirt, some of the crossings over roads had bare pavement but overall I thought it was very nice riding.

Base: 6-12 Trail Crossings are a little rough but overall the trails are great this will be a good weekend to come up......

Hi guys if you stay on the trial your fine getting gas in Baldwin, Irons, etc. can be a little tough but no more than anywhere in MI,,,,Just the crossings are bad the rest of the trails are really good...... I went for a long ride for me last night from here (Baldwin), to Reed City, to Cadillac, back through Irons, back home and on that loop the trails rocked!! Mostly because it was during the week --(no one on the trails) but on some of the bridge crossing's etc., I scraped the skegs on bare pavement, so that is the only reason i dropped the rating down from an 8 to a 7,,, but by the looks of the 10 day this is the weekend to come up, Once this little melt off comes it will moisten up the snow a bit and actually help the trails and the sides of the road so you can get farther up the huge plowed banks the plow guys have put up. I had a big cancellation with a snowmobile club so I have a few vacancies for this weekend

We still have enough snow to have problems like this guy on the right if you get off the trail. Nice meeting you Randy and why are sleds not as light as the use to be. Saturday the trails were reported rough with lots of whups and Moguls on 3 heading out of Baldwin but overall things have been great this year with little to no problems in the way of snirt. Things are getting out of the subzero fog your helmet weather which should bring us some more precipitation. Things should be good for this weekend with nice riding weather.
We have only a couple rooms open for the weekend of 2-6/7-09 so give us a call and see you on the trail.

We are extending our mid-week special into the month of Febuary. Stay 2nights and get the 3rd for free so for a standard double room that would be 103.88 for 3 nights out the door paying tax..That is only good from Sun-Thurs.........

Snow Conditions are still good being we have not had a day over freezing a while. If the groomers get a chance to go through when your riding expect good to great riding conditions. High guys the snow looks great with cold conditions and lake effect snow once again we have perfect riding conditions. Last night with a clipper we received a nice solid 3 inches of powder. We have a few openings this weekend and Sunday-Thurday stay 3 nights in a double ocupancy room for 103.88

The trails look great and it's snowing now, we have gotten around 3inches of new snow since last weekend ant the trails in town are great. There is a little ice in the corners but it could be worse. Some of our snow did melt with our big rain we had on Sunday 12-28 but as you can see we still have good trail conditions. We are having a ton of wind today 60mph plus it knocked down our sign up front 2 - 8inch logs snapped at the bottom of our sign. Anyway we will rebuild and keep going come on up all of MI lost there snow we have just as much as the people in Gaylord, and the whole northern snowbelt, why ride where there are more sleds and more head aches, come on up and enjoy our midweek specials,,,,,

Snow we have plenty..............Between working in the shop building boats doing some float hunting with good buddy John Kluesing and chasing around steel with real hard core clients I have been keeping busy. Steelhead are in their winter holding areas: P.M fish are scattered but concentrated amounts being in pockets from the upper to the middle with large dead areas in the lower..........the mo has been fishing good lately and the big man has been producing a couple a day..........

I have this weekend open the temps are right for some good fishing again,,,

Great early season riding guys: Here are fresh tracks of cars (hunters) only come break fresh powder the riding is skinny in some areas but that is normal for this time of year,,,,Go slow in some of the non-groomed trails,,,we have for sure enough to ride and it's going to snow all weekend,,,i will post a you tube video tomorrow

After the rain we had Sunday we lost some snow but it really packed down the trails good we received 3-6in. of Lake Effect last night and we are supposed to get the same amount tonight, the guys said last night the trails were great. We have great midweek snowmobile packages remember.

We just got another 3 inches last night we have great riding on all trails and the back roads are even better, remember riding during the week is the best, we have midday specials for all you riders that don't like to see other sleds, have a safe weekend and lets keep are fingers crossed to keep this great snow until mid march

Thanks last week to the Madison Area Snowmobile club, well folks the trails are really great we got a good solid 8-14 inches last night on top of a good base, the trails are really good and with the little bit extra of snow on Sat. it will make things perfect.........Save yourself the gas money ride here in Lake Co, you will love it
Today was the best riding of the year for me, that dump of snow was almost all powder,,,i was blazing a trail with snow going over the windshield regularly.........

Hi all here are a couple pics of 3 north towards timber creek, just outside of Baldwin,,,the trails are nice overall with a couple inches of nice base. For the most part I there were no major trees blocking the trails, and i was through before the groomers,,,anyway here is the weather report as of thursday 1-31 at 12:00---tonite: Scattered snow showers early with a steadier snow developing late. Low 16F. Winds E at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 80%. 2 to 4 inches of snow expected. Tomorrow: Snow showers early, with a steadier snow developing late in the day. High 27F. Winds NE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 80%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches. That is strait cut and past from weather. com so it looks like a nice for cast and we have enough snow here to have a good time before the next batch. We still have the mid week special for snowmobilers as 3 days for 109 + tax. Does not include Fri, and Sat. night, the back roads have a good amount of snow on them also, so get the gps out and expore,

Hi guys here are the pictures of the trails as of this morning and we are expecting more snow, the first pic is the back of our property getting you to the trails, the other is a trail with no snowmobile tracks even on it virgin,,, and the last is the main trail head in Baldwin looking to the east on the rail trail......We are expecting probably at least 3-5 tonight and 1-2 of Lake Effect LE for the whole weekend come up and enjoy,,,as always you get a late check out of 4:00pm on Sunday if you stay the whole weekend.....

We have been getting about an 1" or so of lake effect a day making the trails decent for riding. We have about 4"-6" of wet heavy snow on the ground making for a decent base the picture is just outside the staging area in Baldwin up the rail trail a bit. I'll post some more pics tonight or tomorrow and the trail conditions will just keep getting better. The back road and we have hundreds of miles are perfect and they are a little easier on your back. We have middle of the week specials and if you have never stayed here you will know that this is the place to snowmobile in MI. Talk to you soon Mike

Fishing as of yesterday has really picked up on the pm we seem to have a few more fish around. With the little warmth in temps the last couple days we have been actually bringing steel from stripping streamers from the boat between holes. I have been mostly fishing down river where the water is still off but big and ugly has been putting a bend in the rod.... Get out the next couple days before it really turns artic.......
